Tuesday, November 20, 2018 HMMS will have its school-wide Spelling Bee.  All students are encouraged to P-R-A-C-T-I-C-E and P-A-R-T-I-C-I-P-A-T-E.

Cumberland County Schools approved the following dates as make-up instructional days for students:

Monday, October 22, 2018
Wednesday, October 31, 2018
Wednesday, November 21, 2018
Friday, December 21, 2018

Previously, some of the days were teacher workdays and two-hour early release days.

Reading Rocks Fundraiser

Our Reading Rocks fundraiser for the school library is taking place from October 19, 2018 until Friday, November 16, 2018.  Students are competing in their homeroom classes in a Change War.  Please send your loose change (we take bills too!) each day for your student to turn in during homeroom.  The homerooms that raise the most money on each grade level will win a class breakfast and the homeroom that raises the most overall will win a class ice cream social.  Please support Media Center is their efforts to raise money for new books.  100% of the money will be used to purchase items for student use in the library.  Winners will be announced.

Mark your calendars Monday, November 5, 2018 is Parent-Teacher Conference day from 4 pm to 6 pm.  Come meet with your student’s teachers and review his or her academic endeavors for the first grading period.  Teachers will meet with parents in their individual classrooms.

A parent–teacher conference is a great opportunity to:

  • discuss your child’s progress
  • share your child’s strengths and needs
  • work with the teacher to help your child do well in school

We hope to see you November 5th!

6th Grade Ceremony will be held during 1st period (7:49 – 8:49 a.m.)

7th Grade Ceremony will follow during 2nd period (8:53 – 9:53 a.m.)

8th Grade Awards will take place during 3rd period (9:57 – 10:57 a.m.)
