Welcome to Hope Mills Middle School! We are excited and honored that you have chosen Hope Mills Middle and we are glad you have joined the Viking family. I am deeply humbled to serve as the principal of HMMS and to be a part of a culture steeped in rich tradition and academic excellence.

Our faculty, staff, and administration are focused on providing a quality education and learning experience for all students through the various curricular and extracurricular opportunities available. Our focus as educators will continue to be on preparing students for life outside “The Mill” while developing essential skills and behaviors in a safe, supportive environment. Our teachers provide relevant, engaging content while building strong relationships with all students and families.

Our relationships with our families and community are an integral part of the success here at Hope Mills Middle. We encourage you to become involved, whether through our Parent-Teacher Student Association (PTSA), School Improvement Team (SIT), Watch Dog Dads, or School Angels program, or just volunteering your time on one of our many committees aimed at improving our campus. Your feedback and support are essential to our continued improvement. I am excited about the partnerships we will build this year. The extent of your involvement in your child’s school life is a huge predictor of your child’s success and academic growth – they need your guidance and support. So let’s make this a great school year together!

As a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) school, we joyfully accept the challenge to meet the needs of our school community socially, emotionally, academically, and physically. We will work to protect the self-esteem of each individual and to make every member of the “Viking Family” feel special.

Your child had joined the ranks of an energetic, positive, child-centered, innovative, and risk-taking learning environment where they are encouraged to “color outside the lines” and be individuals. We strongly encourage every student to become involved in extra-curricular activities or clubs. Our faculty, staff, and administration will work collaboratively to promote and celebrate our students’ success on a daily basis.

Please, feel free to contact any member of the Viking family if you have any questions that we may assist you with. And again, thank you for choosing to be a Viking.
